March Featured Training: "Partnering with Maori"

Our Featured Training Workshop for March

Hilary Star Foged has spent many years working with leaders and managers from community based organisations exploring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its significance in our communities. This includes facilitating conversations on both the significance and history of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and how to apply its intention and principles in community based organisations. During this one-day workshop, Hilary sensitively supports and assists participants to enquire, explore and learn how to build relationship and accountability in partnership with Maori, in Aotearoa today.

In the morning, the focus is on providing information about Te Tiriti O Waitangi, the context in which it was signed and what has happened since in Aotearoa, through written materials, discussion and an award winning DVD.

In the afternoon we discuss the relevance of Te Tiriti to your organisation, and identify practical steps you can take to participate in and contribute to that partnership and to the full meaning and intent of the Treaty.

What others have said about this workshop

‘I have been involved in other Treaty workshops years ago and I came away feeling so loaded with guilt and a feeling of helplessness that I felt I never really moved on from there. This workshop has really enabled me to look far more deeply at the possibilities and actual practical application of the Treaty for us as a community based organisation in building partnership with Maori’.

‘I so appreciate the level of attendee inclusion, the presenter’s passion. I gained real insight from the seminar and the information supplied’.
